You build movable siege towers and begin your attack from the west side of the city. As they get closer, the fierce Saguntines hurl missiles at your towers. Not only are they successful in halting your war machines, a chosen band of young warriors sallies forth from the great tower of Saguntum to viciously attack your towers. As your ranks begin to take sharp losses, you mount your horse to ride out and rally the troops, letting your frustration get the better of your judgment. You are in the open at the head of your troops when a Saguntine hurls a javelin, striking you full on the thigh. You are severely wounded. As your medics pull you to safety, you call back your fruitless attack. The Saguntines are more than you’ve bargained for. Your plan is failed, what next general?
- Recognizing the strength of the city, abandon the siege and return to conquest of Spain. In this way you can grow your numbers and resources to again lay siege to Saguntum at a later date.
- Try again with the same tactic, building more war machines and sending in more men, this time from multiple sides of the city.
